Zoo Camp

Looking for Adventure? Find it at Zoo Camp.

Great Friends, Good Times, Adventures Around Every Corner

Sarasota Jungle Gardens Zoo Camp is unlike any other camp in the area. It explores nature through hands-on games, crafts, demonstrations and other fun activities! Come explore behind the scenes as you learn about caring for our animals. There’s lots of animal interactions and trekking through the jungle. You’ll see first-hand what it takes to be a zookeeper.

Camp is designed for children ages 6 – 11

There are no prerequisites for any of our camps. We update our program regularly, so whether you’ve been here before or are joining us for the first time, Zoo Camp at Sarasota Jungle Gardens will be a memorable, fun and educational experience for all.

Camp is for making good memories that last a lifetime. We make sure all campers feel welcome, are included and are given many opportunities to make connections with other participants. And, we take camper safety very seriously. All of our counselors are adults that have passed background screening, including fingerprinting, and drug testing. We offer low camper to counselor ratios (1:10 due to Covid protocols) and children are always supervised. We also require parents/guardians show identification before children are released.

COVID19 Update – In an effort to avoid Covid19 transmission, Zoo Camp 2021 will require all campers and counselors to wear masks or face coverings when indoors.  We anticipate that children will be working in close quarters indoors and social distancing may not always be possible.  When campers are outdoors, masks are not required.  Counselor to camper ratios will be 1:10 (or 1:5) with most groups having at least 2 counselors, volunteers or interns.  All children must submit to a temperature check each day and will be unable to join camp if their temperature is 100.3 or above.  We will also have hand sanitizer available throughout the day.  If you believe your child is sick or is at risk of contracting Covid19 or any other virus, please keep them home from camp until the can be cleared by a medical professional.  We really appreciate your help in this matter.  It is also important to note that any public interaction at Zoo Camp or any other public place increases the possibility of contracting Covid19 or any other virus.  It is your choice to send your child understanding the potentials risks.  Sarasota Jungle Gardens assumes no liability.
